Done-for-you Website Copy service: The lowdown

This is a full-service, deep-dive experience designed to make your website work for you. What do I mean by that? Let me tell you about my process.

The brief and the strategy call

We kick off the project with my copywriting brief: you fill out a questionnaire that will tell me more about your business, your clients, your brand, what you’re seeking for your tone of voice, etc. This document is quite extensive and provides a solid base for the project. We then discuss it during a strategy call.

The Voice-of-Customer interviews

I interview some of your former clients to gather Voice-of-Customer (VoC) data. This is a great way to gain new insights into what makes you unique, the value you deliver to your clients, why they decided to work with you, etc.

These interviews allow me to gain precious knowledge to write compelling copy. They are short individual conversations with 3 to 5 people (or more). They’re also a great way to gather testimonials. No more awkward emails to ask your clients for recommendations—I’m taking care of that for you 😉

The competitive research

Based on the information you provided in your brief, I will conduct competitive research to gain deeper insights into your specific competitive landscape and identify messaging opportunities.

The SEO keyword research

I work with an SEO specialist to handle keyword research, the kind of words that your audience types into Google when looking for what you have to offer. I will then use them strategically in the copy.

The interview (hint: you’re the star)

I also interview you to gain a more profound knowledge of your story. I love finding out what makes my clients unique and memorable, and that's something best achieved through an interview. This is a must for your About page!

Let the writing begin!

Once I have all the information I need, I write the first draft. I present it within basic wireframes to give you (and your website designer) a sense of the layout on each page.

Revision round no 1

I send you the copy for review. You get back to me with your comments, and we have a call to discuss your feedback (only if needed, but it usually is). I then update the copy accordingly.

Revision round no 2 & UX review

I send you the updated copy so you or your website designer can upload it to your website. We examine it individually and together to assess how the copy aligns with the design and identify the necessary changes. I review the user experience for your website visitors. I then update the copy accordingly, based on your feedback and my conclusions, and redeliver the updated copy. I also share a video to explain my feedback impacting the design.

These two rounds of revisions provide ample opportunity for you to provide your feedback, allowing us to refine the copy to meet your needs and expectations.

SEO optimized meta tags

At the end of the second round of revisions, I deliver optimized meta tags to help boost your website's SEO and give it some Google love. Those meta tags are the page titles, page descriptions, and image descriptions (also known as alt texts), and they can also help with conversion and the user experience.

How long does a website project usually last?

I typically advise to plan 3 months for a website project. Not that I need 3 months to do my work, mind you, but I’m here for you from the very beginning until the end. This is a highly collaborative effort and, to make sure that everyone has the time to do their part (the website designer, the SEO specialist, your clients for the VoC interviews, as well as you and me), it’s good to plan 3 months.

I only want you to write a few pages, not my whole website. Is that possible?

Yes! While I recommend we work on the entirety of your website for a more consistent and effective result, I’m also happy to focus solely on one or a few pages, depending on what you need most right now. Let’s talk!

Can you write other types of copy on top of my website?

Yes, if you’re looking for a copywriter for your website and would like to keep them on for other projects, that’s also possible. I can work on your sales pages, blog, LinkedIn profile, social media content, case studies, and more.

In what languages do you write?

I write copy in English and French, the two linguistic loves of my life. Mmm, does that mean I’m polyamorous? 🤔
